It is heart breaking that today is the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. Fortunately, I live in Australia and did not have to deal with the depression of such effects first-hand; but i do know it took over all of Australian Television for the time it was occurring as well, so i feel well informed.
It always makes me think of the troubles in the world we are facing in this instant: Libya, Iraq and Somalia - while all different issues, they are still humanitarian disasters. The sad truth about these situations is that we both see little and care little about them, and they are unlikely to leave an impact on the Western world (expect for those who directly involve UN soldier’s).
I think it is vital to consider today’s issues when remembering those that have past through such terror, like the poor people of 9/11. I think it is safe to say that we send love from Australia, and may the souls of the dead rest in peace.
